Petals

Lucy Snowe Photo's of petals are sort of hitting a soft spot with me. After working a little over 8 months with flowers I've learned about the gentleness, and care that the flowers really need in order to be handled. Her photos of flowers I think capture that art. Plus I really loved reading her bio, sounds like an absolute dream.

Pink Flamingos and Sanity

So now that the Flower Shop has survived it's first Valentine Holiday, I'm ready for some silence. Lucky for us, the buzzing around town won't simmer down. We are still buying flowers as fast as we can make them. As you can see the shop is still in chaos mode, balloons float to the ceiling, flower heads are decapitated on the floor, and my brain feels a little fuzzy. It feels good to be busy, so once again forgive my lack of chatter on the web. I'll be updating this blog more from the shop now...So expect more flower photos.

Also new addition Luna says "Hi!".

Minimal Fairytale

Now that we found out the sex of the baby (girl). I've been playing with my nesting instincts and getting ready for the nursery. And I think I want to get a couple of these minimal fairytale posters from Square Inch Design. Love, love them all...

Happy Valentines

I'm trying my best to keep my head on straight at the Flower Shop. I might be loosing it a bit sanity wise, but sleep is overrated. I'm so, so proud of my team. They even came in Sunday to start making the vases with just the greenery. They have been so helpful and so understanding. Mario has been an ace as well, and ditched school one day to help me deliver. I promise after the madness I hope to get back on track on here, clean up the blog a bit. As for the rest of the week. Mario has been teasing me about something big on Saturday (my birthday) so I have high hopes of relaxing that day. As to everyone here have a Happy Love Day, with friends, family, or lovers. (Cookies made by my Grandmother) See everyone next week!

Betsey Johnson Cupcakes

Not only in time for Fashion week, but also in time for Valentines Day. Yes the ultimate girly girl (Betsey Johnson) is making over the top pink, girly, glittery cupcakes. So fun for the season...I wish we could add some to our flower orders.

Style Inspiration/ Stacey Rozich

So others might find style inspiration from magazines, movies, periods of time, I draw mine from the folk stories my mother used to tell me. And Stacey Rozich's illustrations remind me so much of those stories that once memorized me as a child. So of course my style is still influenced by those mountain loving women that would talk to animals. And here are my personal style picks for Stacey's creations.
